Nursing Associate Apprenticeship
The application process is now open and the closing date is midday 15 June 2018.
Interviews will be held on 10 July and 17 July 2018 at Bridgwater & Taunton College.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Nursing Associates programme throughout Somerset. This is a 2 year full-time developmental role and Trainee Nursing Associates will undertake an apprenticeship programme offering a blend of work placed learning, placements and study days, requiring successful candidates to be flexible in working across different environments and education settings.
It is an innovative partnership that has been developed between Somerset's NHS Trusts, University Centre Somerset and the University of the West of England to train and develop a new wave of Nursing Associate Apprentices to start in October 2018 and January 2019.
The Nursing Associate role will sit alongside existing healthcare support workers and fully-qualified registered nurses to deliver hands-on patient focused care. Nursing Associates will support registered nurses across the county, to include Musgrove Park Hospital, Somerset Partnership NHS Trust, Yeovil District Hospital, Somerset Care and various GP Practices.
On successful completion of the programme you will be a qualified Nursing Associate and be able to apply for Band 4 Nursing Associate roles. You will also be able to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for registration as a Nursing Associate.
A greater staff and skill mix within the nursing discipline yields benefits for the patient, profession and employer, and strengthens the development of a workforce within nursing and care professions.
The apprenticeship is a full-time role and includes a salary of between £17,000-£20,000.
